Chelsea Walton and Brent Prym win 2018 André Lichnerowicz Prize in Poisson Geometry

Brent Pym (McGill University) and Chelsea Walton (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) were awarded the 2018 André Lichnerowicz Prize for Poisson Geometry on July 16, 2018, at the Fields Institute in Toronto.

Established in 2008 and awarded every two years, this prize recognizes significant contributions to Poisson geometry by researchers who obtained their PhD at most 8 years prior.

Chelsea Walton is the first woman to win the André Lichnerowicz Award.
