The international Commission on Mathematical Instruction

The International Commission on Mathematical Instruction was first established at the International Congress of Mathematicians in 1908. Today there are 72 member countries across the world.

The Activities of ICMI are many:

• Endorsement of regional conferences on Mathematical Education.

• ICMI Bulletin

  • Published twice a year.

• ICMI Studies

  • Analytic and action-oriented investigations of topics of significance to the theory and practice of contemporary mathematics education.

  ICMI Award

  • The ICMI Felix Klein and Hans Freudenthal medals for 2003 will be rewarded for the first time at ICME-10. Read more.
