Plenary and invited lectures at ICM
The plenary and invited speakers are the main attraction of every International Congress of Mathematicians.
These outstanding mathematicians are selected by the Program Committee, appointed by the IMU, and they are invited by the
Organizing Committee. For the ICM 2018, the Program Committee has put together a truly impressive list of 20+ plenary and 180+ speakers,
distributed in 19 special sections.
Having received all the responses to the invitations, the Organizing Committee is proud to present
the full list of speakers
and sections for the Rio de Janeiro International Congress of Mathematicians.

Participant contributions are also a key aspect to the success of the Congress. Those who have attended previous
ICMs can bear witness to the variety of topics covered in lectures, short communications and poster sections.
This tradition will, of course, be honored at ICM 2018.
It is with great pleasure that the ICM 2018 Organizing Committee announces that the short communications and
posters submissions will be open from
September 04, 2017, to January 05, 2018. The submission procedure
will be entirely online and all the instructions will soon be available at the ICM 2018 official website.
As in previous ICMs, short communications and posters will be classified into the 19 scientific sections of the Congress.
The selection results will be published by
February 28, 2018.
