The CANP 2 book "Teacher preparation in Central America and the Caribbean" is now available as e-book.
The book is a synthesis of the initial and continuing preparation for Mathematics Teaching in Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Venezuela, from which comparative analyses can be made that show similarities and differences, and highlight various perspectives.

Since 2003, the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) awards biannually two awards to recognise outstanding accomplishments in mathematics education research: the Felix Klein Medal and the Hans Freudenthal Medal.
The ICMI EC 2017-2020 is currently holding its first meeting. The meeting started on Thursday, June 8 and will last until Saturday, June 10 and is hosted by EC member Jean-Luc Dorier from the University of Geneva.
The 2nd Congress on Mathematics Education for Central America and the Caribbean (CEMACYC II) took place in Cali, Colombia, from October 29 to November 1, 2017.The site for the event was the Universidad del Valle, one of Colombia's premier institutions. The main host for the Congress was the Institute of Education and Pedagogy of that institution.The participants were able to enjoy the hospitality of the people of Cali, and visited surrounding sites of natural beauty.

In order to contribute to the general program of ICME 11, Topic Study Group 16 seeks contributions on the research and development in the teaching and learning of calculus. The organizing team (OT) will review, select and organize contributions, some by invitation and some submitted by interested participants, that account for advances, new trends, and important work done in recent years on the teaching and learning processes of Calculus.

Topic Study Group 11 brings together researchers and developers who investigate and develop theoretical accounts of the teaching and learning of algebra. The group especially welcomes empirically grounded contributions that focus on (a) learning and teaching in diverse classrooms settings from around the world; (b) the evolution of algebraic reasoning from elementary through university schooling.
Topics of interest include:
