The International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) will take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia, between 6–14 July 2022. The 19th IMU General Assembly will be held shortly before ICM 2022 on 3–4 July.
Nomination of invited plenary and sectional speakers for ICM 2022: with the Program Committee for ICM 2022 now established, the Adhering Organizations of the IMU and mathematical societies worldwide are invited to nominate plenary and sectional speakers (see here for the ICM 2022 sections). Nominations should be made to the Chair of the Program Committee no later than 1 November 2020. Further details are available here.
The IMU grants a number of prestigious prizes and awards every four years at the ICM. The 2022 IMU prizes and awards will be presented at the Opening Ceremony of the ICM on 6 July 2022.
Call for nominations for IMU prizes: in order to assist the committees in their task of selecting the awardees who will receive their distinctions at ICM 2022, the IMU invites nominations for the 2022 IMU prizes and awards. Nominations should be submitted to the Chair of the relevant committee.
To allow the committees sufficient time for the decision process, the IMU has set 31 December 2020 as a deadline for nominations. Further details, including the contact email address for each committee Chair, are available here.

The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters has announced Hillel Furstenberg (Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel) and Gregory Margulis (Yale University, USA) as joint recipients of the Abel Prize for 2020.
