MARM program

 

The London Mathematical Society received a grant of to carry out a study about the MARM program and its effectiveness.

AMMSI

The Africa Mathematics Millennium Science Initiative (AMMSI) received support for its graduate student scholarship program. The African Mathematics Millennium Science Initiative (AMMSI) is a distributed network of mathematics research, training and promotion throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Master Student Support

Five outstanding students from the Master Program at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) (four Cambodians and one Laotian student) received a scholarship to continue their graduate studies in the Philippines at the Institute of Mathematics, University of the Philippines. They started their program in October 2012.

CDC supported the writing of a report: The International Mathematical Union: Past, Present and Future.

CIMPA Workshop

 

The Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA) received support for a workshop for Women and Mathematics in Africa which took place from October 26 -27, 2012 at the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. More than seventy (70) people participated in the workshop, including at least forty (40) women, from the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville, Congo Kinshasa, Ethiopia, France, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Peru, Senegal, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. Student Support

Kimsy Tor, a student from Cambodia who is now studying at Manhattan College in the USA received a partial grant to travel to Lyon, France August 20-30, 2012 to participate in the International Summer School of Mathematics for Young Students 2012 (www.issmys.eu).
