25 experts from all continents except Antarctica gathered in New York in September 2024 under the auspices of the IMU and upon invitation of the Simons Foundation to discuss recent developments in mathematical publishing in a very broad sense.
The Committee regularly organizes panels and talks of general interest to the mathematical community at ICM’s. We present a selection of them here, including pertinent documents and links to the video streams when available.
The rise of the World Wide Web in the late 20th century inspired the vision of a Digital Mathematics Library (DML). Its primary aim is, in a very broad sense, to digitize and store the entire corpus of mathematical research literature, and to implement new features like searching, linking, and computing. The DML is committed to openness, ensuring global access for research and education communities.
Below are documents written by CoP on topics of particular interest (in inverse chronological order). CoPs recommendations as endorsed by the IMU Executive Committee are communicated to the adhering organizations through IMU Circular Letters.
During its existence, CoP has also made further recommendations on copyright and availability of publications in digital form (2001), retrodigitization (2006), and journal prices (2004), but they are not up-to-date anymore and hence not listed here.

Some Best Practices for Retrodigization (2006; historical)
For the past several years, mathematicians have contemplated a coordinated effort to digitize the past mathematical literature in order to make it available online. The aim is to make as much of the literature heritage accessible as possible, linked to the present literature in suitable ways.
