The ICMI (International Commission on Mathematical Instruction) promotes global collaboration and excellence in mathematics education through international programs and research.
The Emma Castelnuovo Award Committee is extending to January 15, 2015, the deadline for submitting nominations for the new ICMI award named after Emma Castelnuovo, an Italian mathematics educator born in 1913, in celebration of her 100th birthday and honoring her pioneer work. She died in April 2014.

The proposals should be sent from the ICMI Representatives.
The Executive Committee of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) a number of years ago created two awards, each in the form of a medal and a certificate, to recognise outstanding accomplishments in mathematics education research:
the Felix Klein Award, for lifelong achievement in mathematics education research,
the Hans Freudenthal Award, for a major programme of research on mathematics education.

New IACME/CIAEM Leadership for 2015-2019
Nearly 1000 participants from 23 countries participated in over 500 presentations (communications, workshops and posters) in the XIVth Inter-American Conference on Mathematics Education that was held in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, México, from May 3-7, 2015. It was a regional meeting of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI).
