Below you will find an overview of all grantees awarded in 2025 under the Graduate Assistantships in Developing Countries program.

Breakout Graduate Fellowship grants are funded by the generous donations from Breakthrough Prize winners. The award of full PhD grants goes to students from developing countries engaged in a PhD degree in the mathematical sciences in a developing country. The 2025 recipients are as follows (listed in alphabetical order):

The event, hosted by the International Mathematical Union (IMU)’s Commission for Developing Countries (CDC) as part of the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2026 in Philadelphia (July 23-30, 2026), aims to highlight the importance of supporting mathematical development in the Global South through collaboration.

686 ICM2026 Travel Grants Awarded
