CANP 5 ANDEAN REGION AND PARAGUAY
CDC supports the CANP 5 (Peru) workshop which will be held in February 2016 with a project grant.
CDC has supported 12 mathematical leaders from Nepal to participate from August 31 to September 8, 2015, in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) in the SEAMS School "Number Theory and Applications in Cryptography and Coding Theory" which was organized at the Department of Computer Science at HCMC Ho Chi Minh City University of Science.
African Women Mathematicians workshop, Kenya
IMU-CDC is supporting three Ph.D. students of the Doctoral School of Pure Mathematics, in Brazzaville, Congo during the period September 1st, 2015- June 30th, 2016.
In 2015 IMU-CDC gave a special grant to support the, 'Central America and Caribbean Math Olympiad (OMCC)' which was held in 2016 in Jamaica.
The OMCC is a Mathematical Olympiad contest for middle and high school students younger than 16 years from countries in the Central American and Caribbean region. This activity is celebrated each year in a different country of the region. One of the main goals of the OMCC is to promote the interest in mathematics and to help the development of science and technology.
IMU-CDC is supporting a project, 'Regional PhD program in Mathematics launched by the Higher University Council of Central American Universities', during the period June 2015- December 2016.
'Integrating Technology in Mathematics Education in Cambodia' in Phnom Penh, Cambodia during the period June 5th, 2015- May 30th, 2017.
In the last 5 years, internet systems have started providing a service that covers Cambodia. Making computers and smart phones available for students and teachers is an excellent step into integrating technology into the school curriculum.
'Reinforcing Mathematics PhD training in Burkina Faso' for Mathematics students from Ouagadougou universities in Burkina Faso during the period June 1st, 2015- May 31st,2016
This project aims to foster mathematical capacity building in Burkina Faso, by training PhD Students. This is done to establish a program of research training through fellowships, masters’ internships, sustain scientific visits in PhD training and support doctoral training in Ouagadougou University.
