Between 6 and 17 August 2012 in San Jose, Costa Rica, was carried out with great success the Escuela seminario internacional Construcción de Capacidades en Matemáticas y Educación Matemática: CANP Costa Rica 2012.
CANP EDiMaths 2 to be held in Sénégal September 11-16, 2012
The second workshop of the CANP Programme in Sub-Saharan Africa (Ecole de Didactique et de Mathématiques, EDiMaths) will be held in Sénégal at the Faculté des Sciences et Technologies de l’Education et de la Formation (FASTEF) de l’Université Cheikh Anta de Dakar from September 11-16, 2012.
The topic of the school is Dimensions culturelle et historique des mathématiques dans la formation des enseignants. »

The Executive Committee of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) a number of years ago created two awards, each in the form of a medal and a certificate, to recognise outstanding accomplishments in mathematics education research:
