ICMI Study-21

ICMI Study-21  consisted of two parts: the Study Conference and the Study Volume. The Study Conference was be held in São Paolo, Brazil, from 16 to 20 September, 2011. The number of participants was limited to at most 120. The conference  attracted not only established researchers but also some “newcomers" to the field and mathematics teachers with interesting and refreshing ideas or promising work in progress, as well as participants from countries usually under-represented in mathematics education research meetings.

The International Programme Committee of ICMI Study has released the Discussion Document for the 21st ICMI Study.

This document suggests specific issues and invites those who might contribute to the discussion to submit a paper, so that the International Programme Committee can select those attending the ICMI Study Conference. The structure of this Discussion Document is as follows:

It is with great pleasure that ICMI announces that the European Society for Research in Mathematics Education (ERME) and the International Commission for the Study and Improvement of Mathematics Teaching (CIEAEM) have joined CIAEM to become Affiliate Organizations of ICMI. We welcome the opportunity for collaboration on matters of mutual interest.
