The EC 2025-2028 has been elected during the ICMI General Assembly in Sydney, Australia on July 5, 2024.

Process of election of the ICMI Executive Committee (EC) for the 2025-2028 term in office

The process of election of the ICMI Executive Committee (EC), which will serve during 2025-2028, was undertaken by ICMI in collaboration with the ICMI member countries through their representatives and their IMU Adhering Organizations.

The process includeed four main steps, as follows.

Starting in 2003, the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) has given two awards to recognize outstanding accomplishments in mathematics education research:

The Emma Castelnuovo Award recognizes outstanding achievements in the practice of mathematics education consistent with ICMI’s principles:

In Colombia, the National Ministry of Education established the "Basic Standards of Competence" (EBC, for the Spanish acronym), a guide on what students are expected to learn in different subject areas. These standards also provide guidelines on quality and evaluation in Basic and Middle Education, specifying by grade groups (1st to 3rd, 4th to 5th, 6th to 7th, 8th to 9th, and 10th to 11th) the level of quality to be achieved.
