Because of the relatively small numbers, most WiM organisations span all fields of mathematics. However a number of groups have recently started  for women in specialist fields. Here is a list, together  with a number of organizations specifically aimed at women in Statistics and Operational Research. If you know of others, please let us know.

In 2015, AWM launched an initiative to build networks of female researchers in different areas of mathematics, through Research Collaboration Conferences at math insitutes which focus on building collaboration groups consisting of senior and junior women in a given area. Information about such events can be found here.

Since 2010, the Hausdorff Centre for Mathematics in Bonn has been hosting a series of meetings `Young women in ...'.

The Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) in Berkeley organises a pre-meeting `Connections for Women ....'  for each of its programs aimed specifically at the female participants. Consult the MSRI website for details.

Combinatorics

Women in Combinatorics Network

The Women in Combinatorics network, WinCom, is intended as a platform for any Combinatorialist who identifies as a woman and would like to connect with other women for various professional reasons and concerns. A database spreadsheet is available for the public to view as a place to search for women collaborators, keynotes, and mentors to encourage the diversification of our research networks. For departments looking to include more women in their conference presenters and colloquium speakers, the database can be searched based on research area and location to encourage visibility of women mathematician within the combinatorics community.

Those who identify as women are encouraged to complete the form to join the network.

Computing & Computability

CiE-SIG: Women in Computabiilty

The Association Computability in Europe (CiE) has been coordinating a Women in Computability program since 2007. It is hosted during the annual CiE conference.

In 2016 this was formalised into a CiE Special Interest Group. It maintains a mailing list and offers various modest grants, a mentoring programme etc.

Pyladies

Pyladies is an international mentorship group with a focus on helping more women become active participants and leaders in the Python open-source community. It also aims to provide a friendly support network for women and a bridge to the larger Python world. Anyone with an interest in Python is encouraged to participate!

WISDOM

The Women In the Security Domain and/Or Mathematics (WISDOM) group was formed in the School of Mathematics and Information Security at Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL) in 2016. The group was born out of the recognised need to increase diversity in the fields of Mathematics and Information Security, and to support the women already working in these fields. The WISDOM group welcomes any individuals who support this endeavour.

Women in Sage

SageMath (previously Sage or SAGE, "System for Algebra and Geometry Experimentation" is mathematical software with features covering many aspects of mathematics, including algebra, combinatorics, numerical mathematics, number theory, and calculus. Women in Sage organises events for women who develop in SageMath or wish to learn Sage. They include introduction presentations, self training, and teamwork on specific projects. For a personal view by Viviane Pons see here.

Maths Education

The international organisation of women and mathematics education IOWME is an network of individuals and groups who share a commitment to achieving equity in education and who are interested in the links between gender and the teaching and learning of mathematics.

Mathematical Physics

Association of Women in Mathematical Physics (AWMP)

AWMP is a non-profit organization founded in 2023 with the aim of encouraging and supporting women in the field of mathematical physics throughout their studies and professional career, establishing a network and meeting space for them, and promoting diversity and equal opportunities for all individuals in mathematical physics.

A list of the activities promoted by the association can be found at the AWMP webpage.

The current members of the Association come from various countries from Europe, North-America, South-America, Asia and North of Africa. AWMP aims to increase its visibility in other countries, to attract more members and to design and develop a diverse set of activities to promote and support women in the field of Mathematical Physics around the world.

Number Theory

Women in Number Theory

WIN is an active group whose website is dedicated to the Women in Numbers community link, inspired by the WIN workshops which have occurred regularly since 2008. It aims to be a resource not only to female number theorists, but also to the number theory community as a whole. You are invited to stay in touch via Twitter (@WINnumbertheory) or the email list.

In 2021 the Registration is still open for the upcoming Women in Numbers - Europe (WIN-E) workshop.
After Luminy, Leiden, and Rennes, this fourth edition will take place in Utrecht, The Netherlands, from August 29th to September 2nd, 2022.
WIN(-E) workshops are collaborative events, during which the participants work together on research projects in number theory. More information, including the list of projects and project leaders, can be found on the website.
Women mathematicians ranging from PhD students to senior researchers and working in any European country are warmly invited to apply by filling out the application form.

Probability

Women in Probability

This organization, started in 2013, is for women active in probability mostly in North America. Its primary purpose is to provide networking and mentoring opportunities for early career women.

In Europe there is no permanent organised group but here is a link to the 2014  Young Women in Probability conference in Bonn.

Topology

The Women in Topology (WIT) network is an international group of female mathematicians interested in homotopy theory whose main goal is to increase the retention of women in the field by providing both unique collaborative research opportunities and mentorship between colleagues.

Here is a link to the 2013 Women in Topology conference in Banff.

In 2017 a three day meeting is being held at MSRI. For details see here.
