It is easy to travel to Hamburg, by air, rail or car.

Every day, there are over 400 flights to Hamburg Airport – one of the most technically advanced airports in Europe. Over 50 airlines connect Hamburg with 112 national and international destinations. Hamburg can be reached via direct flights from many European cities as well as New York, Dubai and Shanghai. Major airlines such as Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, United Airlines, British Airways, and Emirates offer connections via Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, London and Dubai to most parts of the world, making Hamburg easily reachable from all continents. Low cost carriers Easyjet, Germanwings, TUIfly, and Flybe fly direct to Hamburg and Ryanair flies to nearby airports in Bremen and Lübeck. The airport is well connected with the city centre by the underground, which takes only 20 minutes and is low-priced.

High-speed trains (so-called ICE) offer frequent connections between Hamburg and many cities in Germany and in neighbouring European countries. Many stop at the Dammtor station near the congress venue, as well as the main station Hauptbahnhof. In addition, there are many inexpensive offers for rail-and-fly-tickets to the airports in Frankfurt, Berlin and other cities.

Finally, travellers who prefer to drive by car can approach Hamburg from the east, west north or south on the famous autobahn. However, it should be noted that it is often difficult to find a place to park in Hamburg. There are parking lots in the garage of the CCH ( Hamburg Congress Center ) for 15 EUR per day.
