A wide range of accommodation will be available for ICME-13 participants. Hamburg offers more than 48,000 beds in 320 hotels, boarding houses and youth hostels with an increasing availability of accommodation in the lower price segment. There are more than 50 hotels in 5* and 4* categories, and all major hotel chains are represented.

All hotels can be reached easily via public transportation, for which Hamburg is quite famous. Hamburg has four underground-lines (U-bahn), six suburban train lines (S-bahn), many bus lines operating very frequently, and even public ferries crossing the Alster lakes or the Elbe river. Amongst the European metropolitan areas Hamburg was placed fifth in 2009 based on the punctuality and service of its public transportation system. Supplementing the public transportation system are more than 3,500 taxis.

Attention: Be aware that the whole booking and payment process of your accommodation or hotel is your "own job" - we can not give you any assistance in this. The given prices from summer 2015 are just an orientation for your search, but the obligatory prices and conditions (especially for cancelation) are always those you get from the hotels websites or the platforms like www.hrs.de, www.hotels.com, www.trivago.com, www.booking.com, www.hotel.de etc.. In some cases, especialy for groups of young researchers or families with children it might be senseful to search for apartments on www.9flats.com, www.wimdu.com or similiar platforms. Not every hotel with a "City" in the name is really located in the inner City of Hamburg.

So you will also find some info about the distance between the recommended accommodation or hotel to the Dammtor - Bahnhof ( Station for long-distance trains and suburban lines and also busses ), located between the University of Hamburg and the CCH-Conference-Center. It is an addition of average walking, bus and underground times to give you an impression to plan your personal timetable for the conference. From Dammtor-Bahnhof (Dammtor-Station) you will need 3 minutes to the CCH or 5 minutes to the Campus.

RPN means "Room per night" / PPR means "Person per room"

The City of Hamburg charges an extra Cultural City Tax per night, which will not be charged for business travelers - so please fill in this form and give it to the front desk that you are in Hamburg for business reasons : Form for Self-imployed persons City Tax Form for employed persons City Tax

A general info: around the Campus there are a lot of students breakfast places and bakerys; fast food can be found at the Dammtor-Station between Campus and CCH
