Early Career Researcher Day at ICME-13

ICME-13 is pleased to offer a special activity for early career researchers who are attending ICME-13. The Early Career Researcher Day will directly precede the main ICME-13 conference.

The aim of this day is to provide early career researchers with opportunities to develop their research competencies in various fields, establish new contacts, building networks among themselves and meet and work with international experts in the field.

It will be held on Sunday, 24th July 2016 in the Educational Building H ( orange ) at the Faculty of Education of the University of Hamburg (Von-Melle-Park 8, 20146 Hamburg).

Early career researchers, attending ICME-13, are welcome to participate in this day. The additional fee of 50 Euro will include lunch and coffee breaks. 

  In order to register for the Early Career Researcher Day, you need to go to https://www.conftool.pro/icme13/ , where you choose to participate both at the ICME 13 conference and the Early Career Researcher Day.

For the participants of the Early Career Researcher Day the Registration for ICME-13 is organised separately with a temporary congress office in the foyer of the Educational building H ( orange ).

Thematic block B: Important mathematics educational themes

9.00-10.15:

    1. Theoretical aspects of mathematics education research: Stephen Lerman

    2. Frameworks and principles for task design in mathematics education: Carolyn Kieran

    3. False choices in research paradigms: Studies of knowledge AND social interaction: Andrea diSessa

  10.45-12.00:

    4. International comparative studies: Kaye Stacey

    5. The professional development of teachers of mathematics: Ruhama Even

    6. Thinking about mathematics as discourse: What difference does it make for educational research                         and practice?: Anna Sfard

 

Thematic block A and B will run in parallel. Within thematic block A all workshops will be organised simultaneously.

So, please either choose BLOCK A with ONE of the workshops (choice 1 to 11) or Block B. Within Block B every lecture will last 85 minutes including discussion time, two lectures will be hold in parallel and no special choice needs to be done in advance.

Thematic block C: Academic writing and academic publishing
