Excursions
Please note that all excursion programs are "first come first served" and, sorry to say, that the majority of participants have already been registered.
Our formal excursions have a fixed limit on the number of participants (given by the size of the boats or the coaches or determined by the restaurants ) - the registration system indicates "This event or item is booked out", when a tour is full. We try to show this as actual as possble on our website. We cannot deal with 2nd or 3rd choices - so please think carefully about your preferred tours before you get into the registration process.
If you prefer to create your own program at the excursion day , please click "No excursion", so that we do not wait for you and can give places to other people.
We will not offer any shopping tours, because the University of Hamburg and the Congress Center Hamburg / CCH are located directly in the centre of the City of Hamburg and a lot of shopping possibilities can be reached by a short walk of some minutes.
Your tour number will be printed on the congress badge (your name tag) and this is your free ticket to your selected tour.
It is possible that a tour cannot be run, because the number of participants is too low to fill a bus or the boats with their different sizes. We should know this from the registrations by April 2016. In that case we will offer you further choices by email or by simply asking you to login again and select another tour. This will happen in May 2016 at the latest.
All tours will be accompanied by a GDM-member as your host and a student as "helping hand"; and we will have english-speaking professional guides for the city-tours.
All our tours includes a buffet and mineral water to drink (also in the busses) ; other kinds of drinks like beer, wine, Coke or fruit juices have to be paid by yourself. The "no timetable"-offers includes also coffee or tea and sweets or cakes.
If you see "longer travel to and from" - this means that the bus transfer needs between one hour or one and a half ours per direction, but all our booked busses have washing rooms on board.
